There are many advantages of opting for a venue like the Rectory for your wedding day. Nowadays couples are looking to cut costs for their special day without cutting on quality.
The trend in years gone by was to have large weddings with guest numbers of 200-300. When we first talk to couples about their big day they always say they want the day to be intimate and personal. Quite often it was not the intention of the couple to have large numbers but pressure from family members to invite more than really wanted. It is always a case of where to draw the line. Do I invite all my cousins and if so doesn't that means my fiancees cousins? Fine if there are only a few but some families can be quite large. What about work colleagues, neighbours..... the questions go on and on. There is no exact potion and remedy as if there was we'd love to bottle it and sell it off. No matter if you have 20 or 300 you will always have someone giving their opinion. That's why we feel if you really want it to be a more intimate occasion with close friends and family the Rectory max numbers and capacity are an ideal excuse to keep it exactly at that. The numbers here are enough to ensure your closest friends and family are here. With additional evening guests there are even more opportunities to keep everyone happy. If your intention is to be able to spend as much time with your guests and have some good old mingling time then this venue with its numbers will ensure that. Not only does it benefit you in that your numbers won't spiral out of control but you also have the added advantage that you won't need to budget for more than our max numbers. This ultimately saves thousands. Further Advantages of the Rectory over other Country Houses and Hotels- No venue hire fee for exclusivity unlike most country houses (Saving average €3000-5000)
- No Service charge (Average 10-15% can come in at €1,500-2,500)
- Midweek Minimums Numbers - 45 (See Terms)
- Friday/Saturday Bookings Min 75
- Stunning views overlooking Glandore Harbour. Priceless...... Let's face it the location is simply amazing. Being both a seaside and country location makes it hard for other venues to compete. It's proximity to Cork City and Airport make it an ideal location for international guests with only an hours drive from the airport. The area of Glandore is a haven from any city.
- No accommodation ties (Most venues incorporate a minimum number of rooms that are required to be taken out and can on average be €200-250 per room in country houses. Many also require this for minium 2 nights stays. With this in mind you are putting yourselves in the position to ensure these rooms are filled and that your guests are happy to pay for these. We have found the fact that no ties are incorporated here with accommodation it gives both you and your guests the freedom to choose the preferred option as everyone has different needs. Some may want to stay in a hotel, others self-catering for a few nights and others just simply want a more budget style accommodation which are plentiful in the area. We recommend you provide this information in your invitation along with map, taxis, salon etc. (Check out our local suppliers on our site as accommodation can be as competitive as €20-30p.p.p.n.s for a luxury 4* self-catering lodge for a group of 5 over 3 nights.) Guests are thankful of the option as let's face it things add up for them as well between outfits, hair & make-up and travel. The more options you give your guests the better.
- More time to spend with your guests.
- At the Rectory we believe food is very important. Being particular about the numbers and parties catered to ensures that quality is of utmost importance. It is simple food done well. The emphasis is on making everything on site with home-made breads to stocks and soups etc. so you really can savour a quality meal as you would when you visit a restaurant. When you order for example beef it is presented as a steak rather than the carvery style roasts. Presentation is extremely important as we find guests also eat with their eyes and so a well presented dish is very important.
- Less numbers to cater for means reduced costs as well as less organising leading to less pressure and stress so you can enjoy what is your special day
- With smaller numbers you will have more leyway with your budget and can therefore invest a little more on the quality items for both yourself and guests such as the food and entertainment or better still your honeymoon.
